Landlords
The Greensboro Housing Authority works with over 2,500 landlords/owners to provide Housing Choice Vouchers to qualifying participants in Greensboro, NC. Families typically pay between 30% and 40% of their adjusted annual income towards housing costs and GHA provides a subsidy that generally represents the difference between the tenant share and the gross contract rent (rent plus utilities). The subsidy, called a “Housing Assistance Payment” (HAP), is paid by GHA to the landlord/owner of the property. This payment is subject to limitations imposed by GHA’s
Payment Standards. Payment Standards are based upon Fair
Market Rents (FMRs) established by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
